To achieve person-centred care as part of regular care in care homes and hospitals demands the involvement of staff at all levels of the organisation. The VIPS framework provides a checklist of 24 indicators that care providers can use as a benchmark to assess the person-centredness of their service. Our guidance explains how care providers can meet this requirement, which is one of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. Its intention is to make sure that people using a service have care or treatment that is personalised specifically for them.
